On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, a fatal stabbing occurred at LA Nails, located within the Meijer store in Alma, Michigan. The victim, identified as 48-year-old Travis Steve, was the owner of LA Nails and a father to five daughters.
Authorities responded to reports of a felonious assault at the nail salon around 12:59 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Travis with multiple stab wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 30-year-old man from Alma was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently held without bond at the Gratiot County Jail.
The Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the names of the suspect or the victim, pending arraignment in the 65B District Court in Ithaca. However, community members have identified the victim as Travis, affectionately known as Steve, highlighting his role as a dedicated father and local business owner.
